Can’t wait for the final season of
Game Of Thrones to be released on April 4? Well, this little teaser
HBO just released is likely to raise your expectations even more.
Titled ‘Crypts of Winterfell’, the the teaser puts the spotlight (or rather, torch light) squarely on the remaining three members of House Stark – Jon Snow, Sansa Stark, and Arya Stark, as they walk through the crypts of their family’s ancestral home, passing statues of their late parents Eddard and Catelyn Stark as well as Jon’s birth mother Lyanna Stark-Targaryen, until they meet, and come face to face with statues of themselves. Then Jon and Arya draw their swords (Longclaw and Needle) as a cold mist rolls in….
With the first season of the series focusing very much on the Starks of Winterfell, it is only fitting that the final season should be about them as well, and this teaser is a fine look at just how far the three Stark siblings have come since then.
The teaser was directed by David Nutter, who won an Emmy in 2015 for his work on the season five finale, Mother’s Mercy. It also includes an original score by Ramin Djawadi, who won an Emmy in 2018 for his score on the season seven finale, The Dragon And The Wolf.
The eighth and final season of Game Of Thrones will debut in Asia same time as the US on Monday, 15 April at 9am, exclusively on HBO (Astro Ch 411 / 431 HD). The series will also be available on HBO On Demand (via Astro Go).
