KATE and William’s royal baby may have snubbed Prince Harry before it is even born with predictions for its godparents leaving out the tot’s uncle.
Princess Beatrice and Princess Eugenie could be named as godmothers of the Duke and Duchess of Cambridge’s third child, according to royal expert Richard Fitzwilliams.
The honour could also come as a shock to royal watchers after Eugenie and Beatrice, cousins of William and daughters to Prince Andrew, were not even invited to Princess Charlotte’s christening.
He told Express.co.uk: “It is possible Beatrice or Eugenie might be a godparent to the new baby.”
Mr Fitzwilliams also said the “emphasis could be firmly be on their close friends” after Kate and William broke tradition and opted for friends and family when Princess Charlotte was christened.
However there was no mention of Pippa Matthews or Prince Harry, who certainly has a lot of practice because he is already godfather of two, including to his former nanny Tiggy Legge-Bourke’s oldest son, Frederick Pettifer.
The Duke and Duchess have not yet followed royal tradition by making the baby’s uncle a godfather, as happened with Harry, 33, who counts Prince Andrew among his godparents.
Prince George's godparents included Julia Samuel, founder of Child Bereavement UK, and Jamie Lowther-Pinkerton, the former SAS officer who is the Duke's Principal Private Secretary.
Members of the Royal Family did not make it on the list of Princess Charlotte’s godparents, with Kate and William instead opting for a member of Princess Diana’s family.
Laura Fellowes is the Duke’s first cousin and the daughter of Princess Diana’s sister Lady Jane Fellowes.
It also remains unclear where the royal baby will grow up as Prince George has just started school in London making Kensington Palace the most obvious place to bring up the brood.
However when Princess Charlotte was born, the couple opted to make their main residence Anmer Hall on the Sandringham Estate in Norfolk, which provided the young family with a degree of privacy in the quiet countryside.
Prince William and his brother Harry have been visiting the Sandringham Estate, around three miles from the Queen’s Norfolk residence, since they were children.
Mr Fitzwilliams said: “The new royal baby will be mainly based at Kensington Palace, Anmer Hall will be used at weekends and on holidays.
“William and Kate were lucky to have got so much time there and in Wales in their early years together.”
The royal commentator also brushed off rumours Kate and William would go on to have another child after baby number three, telling Express.co.uk: “There is no indication that they want want a fourth child, it had been widely rumoured that they wanted three”.
