Royal family has been forced to deny claims there is growing tension between the Duchesses of Sussex and Cambridge.
Kate Middleton, 37, allegedly slapped down sister-in-law
Meghan Markle, 37, after the Duchess of Sussex spoke rudely to royal staff.
The Duchess of Cambridge is believe to have told Meghan not to berate members of her team at Kensington Palace, the Sun reported.
The newspaper quoted a source as saying: “Her and Kate fell out when she b******ed Kate’s staff."
But, the Palace took the unusual step of speaking out to deny the claims, saying: "This never happened."
The denial came after Daily Star Online reported the Palace had stayed silence on claims of a growing rift.
Rumours of the Duchesses' falling out, Meghan's frequent “abrupt tone” and her apparent demands on staff have reportedly even led to the Queen intervening.
Kate was reportedly reduced to tears after Princess Charlotte’s bridesmaid dress fitting in the run-up to Meghan’s May wedding.
The 36-year-old, who had just given birth to Prince Louis, was said to be “feeling quite emotional”.
Another source added: “It’s obvious the two women are pretty different and while they haven’t been involved in a soap opera-style falling out, they aren’t exactly the best of friends.
“But their lack of closeness could also be to do with the two brothers wanting to pursue their own lives and there’s no real desire to be spending every waking minute together.”
Another royal source this week claimed Meghan has also driven a wedge between brothers Prince Harry, 35 and Prince William, 37.
Harry is said to have feuded with William, accusing him of not “rolling out the red carpet” for Meghan ahead of their wedding, the Telegraph reported.
Rumours of a rift were further fuelled by news Meghan and Harry will no longer be moving into an apartment next door to Kate and William.
They will move to Frogmore Cottage in Windsor instead, which will undergo a huge refurbishment before they move in.
The royal family has stayed silent on a number of major scandals – most notably the very protracted marriage breakdown of Prince Charles and Princess Diana.
But the rule not to comment on personal matters has been broken twice in the last two years – both in response to stories about Meghan.
