Keith Allen was left stunned as he managed to survive the first round of
Celebrity MasterChef despite being heavily criticised for his presentation skills.
Keith’s sloppy-looking dishes left judges John Torode and Gregg Wallace dismayed, but the fact they tasted good saw him go through to the next round by the skin of his teeth.
The celebs’ imagination and creativity were tested in the infamous ingredients box, which included pork mince, prawns, fennel, cabbage and pears, and the contestants had to create just one dish.
They later got another chance to shine and show off their culinary creativity by designing a two-course menu in just one hour.
When John and Gregg’s final decision came down to Keith and TV presenter
Michelle Ackerley, the decided to send Michelle home after her fish pie failed to impress.
As Michelle’s name was announced, Keith quipped: ‘Well I’m not surprised’.
Michelle said she was ‘going out with a smile on my face’ and enjoyed taking part.
She added: ‘I wish the rest of the guys the best of luck.’
Keith said: ‘Until Michelle’s potato was airlifted in I thought it was taxi cab for Mr Allen.’
In the final round Keith whipped up French-inspired chicken on a bed of egg noodles, leaving Gregg confused over why he decided to put the two together.
Going forward in the next round are Keith, Martin Bayfield, Josh Cuthbert and Carol Decker.
