Manchester City continue their preparations for the
Premier League season with just two days until transfer deadline day.
After Sunday's dominant Community Shield victory over Chelsea, attention now turns to a big week ahead for Manchester City.
The summer transfer window closes at 5pm on Thursday, meaning time is running out for
Pep Guardiola to bring in the defensive midfielder he has been chasing all summer.
And preparations are ongoing for the Premier League opening game at Arsenal on Sunday. Reports yesterday linked City with Borussia Dortmund midfielder Julian Weigl but the club were quick to dismiss any interest.
Guardiola confirmed his desire to find back-up for Fernandinho, saying: "We are trying [to sign someone]. We would like to find maybe one more because we don’t have two specific players to substitute Fernandinho."But, if he doesn’t come, there will not be anyone else."
