Steve Smith and David Warner have both been dropped from the Indian Premier League (IPL) after their part in Australia's ball-tampering scandal.

Both men were due to captain their IPL outfits with Smith set to lead the Rajasthan Royals while Warner has been operating as Sunrisers Hyderabad skipper since 2015.
But regulatons set out by the Board of Control for Cricket in India (BCCI) mean that in light of Cricket Australia's decision to ban both players for 12 months from international cricket as well as domestic duties in Australia, they will not be allowed to play in the IPL.
Any player banned by his home country's governing body is automatically banned from the IPL, just as Andre Russell missed last year's tournament during his one-year ban for a doping violation.
IPL 2018: Steve Smith and David Warner OUT of competition for ball-tampering in HUGE blow
Smith and Warner had already been sent home from South Africa, along with Cameron Bancroft, before the captain and vice-captain were handed 12-month bans and the younger player a nine-month suspension.
The ball-tampering story first broke during play on Saturday when Bancroft was seen concealing the tape before being asked to turn out his pockets by the on-field umpires.
The images were shown on the big screen in Cape Town and the Australian players were booed by the crowd; Smith and Bancroft held a press conference after play to explain their actions.
The Australia captain admitted that the "leadership group" of the team had taken the decision to attempt to alter the state of the ball. However, he initially claimed he would remain in his position as skipper.
"I still think I am the right person for the job. Today was a big mistake. This is something I am not proud of, something I can learn from and like I said, I am embarrassed to be sitting here talking about this," Smith said.
"We are in the middle of such a great series and for something like this to overshadow the great cricket that has been played, that's not what I am about or what the team is about."
However, he and Warner were then told otherwise overnight by Cricket Australia CEO James Sutherland and he confirmed on Sunday that they would be removed of responsibilities until the end of this game at least.
“Following discussions with Steve Smith and David Warner they have agreed to stand down as captain and vice-captain respectively for the remainder of this Test match,” a statement said.
Match referee Andy Pycroft said: "To carry a foreign object on to the field of play with the intention of changing the condition of the ball to gain an unfair advantage over your opponent is against not only the Laws, but the Spirit of the game as well.
"That said, I acknowledge that Cameron has accepted responsibility for his actions by pleading guilty to the charge and apologising publicly. As a young player starting out in international cricket, I hope the lessons learned from this episode will strongly influence the way he plays the game during the rest of his career."
