A MAN has fallen from a balcony at the
Dutch Parliament, horrifying members of parliament who rushed to his aid.
Upsetting video showed MP Arno Rutte speaking before screaming and crashing is heard off camera.
At this point Mr Rutte races from the stage, as people can be heard screaming: "Push him up, push him up."
Witnesses said the man fell from the balcony before MPs and paramedics rushed to his aid.
Photos showed traumatised MPs hugging each other in the parliament building.
Officials have not yet confirmed the man's condition.
Witnesses told De Telegraaf newspaper the man had been acting strangely before the incident.
The Dutch newspaper said the man was a drugs activist who had pledged to "wake up politicians".
One witness told the newspaper: "He had been camping in front of the House of Representatives for four weeks now, to draw attention to the legalisation of soft drugs."
MP Michiel Van Nispen said: “It was terrible.”
