ITALIAN politician
Silvio Berlusconi was confronted by what appears to be a topless Femen activist as he prepared to cast his vote for the next Italian government at his polling station in Milan.
Silvio Berlusconi was approaching the ballot box with his ID card and polling card when a topless woman jumped on the table.
Footage from Milan shows the woman leaping onto the table flashing the former Italian Prime Minister.
Security guards can be seen approaching Mr Berlusconi to take him away as photographers documenting his vote take pictures of the naked activist.
The woman can be heard yelling in English and Italian, inviting voters not to support Mr Berlusconi centre-right coalition.
She said: "Don't vote Berlusconi! Don't vote Berlusconi! Berlusconi, your time is done."
Security guards can then be seen closing in on the woman to drag her out of the polling station.
Pollsters predict Mr Berlusconi and his right-wing allies La Lega and Brothers of
Italy will emerge as the largest bloc in parliament but fall short of a parliamentary majority.
According to Paolo Cossarini, teaching fellow in Politics and International Relations at Loughborough University, he has predicted the vote percentage of the main blocs as follows:
Bloc 1: Centre-right bloc (FI, FdI, LN): 34-37%
Bloc 2: Centre-Left (PD, + others): 30%
Party not in pre-electoral alliance - 5 Star Movement: 25-28%
But if, as expected, no-one clinches a clearcut victory on Sunday, it might take weeks before a government deal is reached.
