After the 'Grace and Frankie' star shut down the anchor's inquiries about plastic surgery in September, the actress made a subtle jab at Kelly during a Tuesday appearance on NBC's 'Today' alongside Lily Tomlin.
Jane Fonda proved that she has not forgotten about her awkward interview last fall with Megyn Kelly, in which the anchor asked her about plastic surgery, taking a subtle jab at Kelly during her latest appearance on NBC's Today show on Tuesday.
Fonda was on hand during the 7-9 a.m. block to discuss Netflix series Grace and Frankie with her co-star Lily Tomlin. During the lively interview, Hoda Kotb and Savannah Guthrie asked the co-stars how long they’ve known each other. “Fifty years, a long time,” Fonda answered. Tomlin quipped, “I think before your first face-lift.”
Fonda then shot back at Tomlin, “Who are you, Megyn Kelly?”
“Oh that’s right! I forgot she was the one,” Tomlin responded, aware of her co-star's awkward encounter with the anchor.
Surprised by Fonda’s response, Kotb and Guthrie burst out laughing before attempting to turn the conversation elsewhere.
Last September, Kelly attempted to ask Fonda about her plastic surgery, making the actress visibly irritated and defensive.
“You’ve been an example to everyone in how to age beautifully and with strength and unapologetically,” Kelly said, continuing, “You admit you’ve had work done, which I think is to your credit, but you look amazing. I read that you said you felt you’re not proud to admit that you’ve had work done. Why not?”
“We really want to talk about that now?” Fonda shot back before quickly changing the subject back to her film. “Good attitude, good posture, I take care of myself. But let me tell you why I love this movie that we did, Our Souls at Night, rather than plastic surgery."
