GREEK police have fired tear gas at protestors outside the parliament building in Athens after demonstrators threw petrol bombs and stones at officers.

More than 10,000 people had taken part in a demonstration outside the building in protest of a fresh round of austerity measures.

Lawmakers in the cash-strapped EU member state today voted on a new set of bailout measures prescribed by the country's international lenders in exchange for fresh bailout loans.
Reforms which would limit the rights of workers to strike were also considered.
The Greek economy was plunged into crisis after the 2007-2008 financial crisis and the EU member state has been reliant on bailout loans to keep public services running ever since.
The Parliament building in Athens is located in the centre of the capital.
