The penultimate episode is a best since June 2014.America's Got Talent finishes its exceptional twelfth season on Wednesday, likely maintaining the ratings highs it has seen since May.
The reality competition, which helped NBC lock up another full year as the No. 1 TV network among adults 18-49, aired its performances finale on Tuesday and hit another three-year ratings high mark in the process. The one-hour episode scored a 2.9 rating in the key demo and jumped to 14.3 million viewers. (For a Tuesday installment, that's a best since 2011.)
NBC also tried to drum up excitement for its upcoming Will & Grace revival with a special The Paley Center Salutes the Best of Will & Grace. It earned a 1.2 rating among adults 18-49.
The only competition was a new outing of Somewhere Between on ABC, which earned a 0.4 demo rating and 1.9 million viewers.
On CBS, there was no new primetime programming to speak of — but Hillary Clinton's visit to The Late Show With Stephen Colbert was enough to see its overnight rating pop, topping late-night with a 2.8 among households. NBC's The Tonight Show Starring Jimmy Fallon still maintained an easy lead among adults 18-49.
