Director Pierre Morel, known for Taken, is switching gears with his latest film, Freelance. Relativity Media has dropped a new
trailer for the movie, which boasts over-the-top humor that parallels its high-octane stunts. Freelance stars Alison Brie (Community, GLOW) as a disgraced journalist who heads to Colombia for a high-stakes interview with a local dictator, played by Juan Pablo Raba (Agents of SHIELD, Narcos). To ensure her safety, she enlists the help of a reluctant private security guard played by John Cena (Barbie, The Suicide Squad). However, their plans go awry after a sudden
MILITARY coup, and the unlikely trio finds themselves on the run in a wild adventure and depending on each other for survival. Check out the trailer below. Brie told People that Freelance features "crazy horse stunts" that required "a number of stunt doubles," and that audiences can expect a lot of wild action setpieces. "We did shoot scenes where we're going through a river, this rapids river, and I'm up to my neck in the water and stuff like that, which is really fun and adventurous," Brie said. "Honestly, sometimes just a regular day
shooting in the jungle feels like doing your own stunts because there's an interesting terrain and wildlife that you're navigating. But it was really fun." Alice Eve (Black Mirror) and Christian Slater (Mr. Robot) also star. Produced by Renee Tab, Christopher Tuffin, Steve Richards, Christopher Milburn, and Danny H. Chan, Freelance promises a fun blend of action and
comedy. Freelance is set to hit theaters on October 9. Every Original Movie Coming To
