Labour has maintained control of Cambridge City Council after the results of this year's local
elections were announced on Friday, May 5. She said: "Clearly we are hearing messages from some of the voters Cherry Hinton and we have to listen to them, we have to take those seriously. "I will be talking with the local councillors over the next few days to get a sense of what those messages were on the doorstep. election yesterday (Thursday, May 4), there were 25 Labour councillors (but did see resignations of some councillors ahead of the election), nine Liberal Democrat councillors, three Green Party councillors, and one independent councillor. This year there were 14 of the city council's 42 seats up for election, as well as two by-elections in the Castle and Coleridge wards.
