Star Wars game in 20 years” in reviews ahead of its release, surpassing the impressive review scores of its 2019 predecessor Jedi: Fallen Order . In the new open-world action-adventure game, players take control of Cal Kestis, one of the last remaining Jedi after their near extinction following Order 66. Set five years after its predecessor, Cal is no longer a Padawan but a powerful Jedi Knight and continues his crusade against the Empire. Its official synopsis reads: “Pushed to the edges of the galaxy by the Empire, Cal will find himself surrounded by threats new and familiar. As one of the last surviving Jedi Knights, Cal is driven to make a stand during the galaxy’s darkest times – but how far is he willing to go to protect himself, his crew, and the legacy of the Jedi Order?” The new game sees Cal and his droid companion BD-1 traverse the galaxy, visiting planets both new and familiar and meeting a host of species who assist him on his quest. Each planet is chock full of hidden secrets, valuable treasures and an array of dangerous enemies. Players will need to set aside plenty of time to explore everything Jedi: Survivor has to offer, but thankfully the game includes a fast travel feature, giving Cal’s Jedi adventure a handy shortcut. Coruscant Coruscant, the capital of the Galactic Empire (Image: EA) Cal’s adventure kicks off in the capital of the Galactic Empire, Coruscant. The planet is covered by one giant city and was featured heavily in the Star Wars prequel trilogy. A vast urban cityscape of mammoth skyscrapers, Coruscant is full of Stormtroopers and security droids, but they are no match for a skilled Jedi like Cal. Players can revisit the planet later in the game to pick up any collectibles that were missed in the opening mission. Koboh Koboh acts as Cal's home base in Jedi: Survivor (Image: EA) After leaving Coruscant, Cal crash lands on the abandoned planet Koboh. This acts as Cal’s base throughout the game and has by far the largest area to explore. It is full of lush forests and rivers and is home to many dangerous creatures and hostile bandits who don’t take kindly to Jedi. Shattered Moon Shattered Moon orbits Koboh and is home to an abandoned science lab that has being taken over by both bandits and stormtroopers. Cal visits this area twice during the game’s story as its research facilities hold secrets vital to his quest. Jedha Jedha was first seen in 2016's Rogue One: A Star Wars Story (Image: EA) First seen in Rogue One, Jedha is a harsh desert planet and the perfect place to preserve the legacy of the Jedi away from the prying eyes of the Empire. The intense sandstorms and blistering sun make Jedha inhospitable for most, save for some tough creatures that will attack wanderers on sight. This planet is one of the biggest Cal will explore in Jedi: Survivor and sees him reunite with some old allies at a hidden base. Nova Garon This asteroid is the smallest playable area of Jedi: Survivor and is home to the Imperial Security Bureau. The colossal chunk of space-rock houses a huge base for the Empire, including loading docks and housing facilities. Tanalorr Tanalorr is a potential safe haven from the Galactic Empire that has remained hidden for centuries. The mythical planet was once home to the Jedi Order but has suffered a tragic history after Jedi Knight Dagan Gera planned to use it as a base to train younglings. Only a few know how to reach this exotic planet, and it is the final destination unlocked in Jedi: Survivor.
