Netflix viewers have been gripped by the three-part documentary series telling the horrific story in which 86 people died after a 51-day standoff in Waco in 1993. Fans of true crime were shocked by jaw-dropping scenes from America's largest gun fight, with many calling the whole series "wild". The documentary, titled Waco:
American Apocalypse, takes viewers through the shocking events that stunned the world 30 years ago. It tells how David Koresh served as the messiah of a religious cult who had hundreds of followers hanging on his every word. The Branch Davidian fringe religious group consisted of 130 men,
Women, and children living on a compound called the Mount Carmel Centre outside Waco,

A number of viewers couldn't believe the gory clips shown, particularly in the first episode, as the gun battle unfolds, killing four ATF officers before the
FBI became involved. Taking to
Social Media to share their disbelief, one
Twitter user wrote: "This Waco American Apocalypse doc of Netflix is wild." Another agreed, saying: "Yo this Waco cult documentary on Netflix is wild. How can people be so delusional." And a third slammed Koresh for his actions, saying: "Just watched all 3 eps of “Waco - American Apocalypse” on Netflix. Cults… scary as hell. A

I never knew all the detail. So depressing… such a bonkers mindset." The series featured candid interviews from those involved in the stand-off, including ATF and FBI officials, journalists and cult members. And some viewers were quick to criticise one interviewee for her "disgusting" comments almost three decades after she left the property during the siege. Kathy Shroeder spoke to the streaming giant and appeared to still share the same beliefs that got her to be one of the main people behind leader Koresh. David Koresh had dozens of automatic assault rifles, ammunition and grenades, which were mostly illegal, in his compound ( Image: Netflix) She is heard still defending Koresh on a number of controversial topics and viewers were far from happy at what they heard. One Twitter user slammed: "Yo... The woman in yellow in Waco needs HELP! She be crazy!!!" while another said: "Made me so sick listening to her." The almost two-month-long stand off eventually ended on April 19, 1993 after a fire destroyed Branch Davidians’ compound. In total, 28 children were killed.
