A leading ingredients manufacturer has predicted the next big brekkie trend , and it might raise a couple of eyebrows. According to Macphie Ltd , pizzas are tipped to become a regular fixture on breakfast menus across the country in the next couple of years. The Scottish ingredients giant supplies the hospitality sector, and has pointed out that more menus are serving breakfast versions of pizza. Pizza has never been more popular – despite the pandemic, sales have increased significantly – with the doughy dish remaining the highest-ranking craveable food item. Innovation in pizza continues to soar and vegan has proven to be the fastest-growing pizza preference by far, climbing 187 percent on menus in the last three years. Alternative base sauces are now coming to the forefront too with more pesto, creamy alfredo, and sweet dessert pizzas toppings.
