A spiteful boyfriend cut up a woman's clothes and "smashed up" her home as a nasty act of revenge after their "toxic" relationship finally fell apart. Joshua Kreidie went on a destructive rampage while she was out and he damaged a television, a window and a mirror as well as the clothes, a court heard. Kreidie, 27, of Forge Drive, Epworth, North Lincolnshire, admitted assaulting the woman and causing criminal damage to her items on November 30. Read more : 'I haven't had a bath for four years because my housing provider won't install a wet room' Nigel Clive, prosecuting, told Hull Crown Court that the couple were in a relationship at the time but it had become "toxic" and "disintegrated" towards the end of last year. They had a "significant argument" about the break-up of the relationship and Kreidie raised his voice to the woman and came up close to her. Threats were made but they did not involve threats to kill her or to use violence. She left the property but, when she returned later, she found that it had been "smashed up" by Kreidie. He had damaged mobile telephones, a window, clothes and a mirror. The woman made a complaint to the police. She was now pregnant and the couple's baby was due to be born on August 8. She wanted to put the matters behind her and had moved out of the area. Kreidie had previous convictions , including for harassment, assault and breaching a restraining order. Harry Bradford, mitigating, said that Kreidie realised that "distance and space" were now needed between them. "He is intending to move on," said Mr Bradford. Judge Mark Bury told Kreidie: "You overstepped the mark quite considerably. You were angry and aggressive towards her, which caused her to fear that you were either going to hit her or cause violence to her another way. "While she was gone, you spitefully damaged her property. You broke her window. You put her telly in. You went into her bedroom and cut clothes up and broke the bathroom mirror. That was very spiteful of you. "You have a history of violence towards partners or at least one previous partner. You need to sort yourself out. If you keep doing this, some judge is going to sentence you to a long sentence. "In any future relationships, you need to behave differently from how you have in the past. Mind how you go." Kreidie, who was in custody, was jailed for four months but, because of his time in custody on remand, he was expected to be released imminently. He was given a four-year restraining order but will be allowed to have some arrangements for contact when the baby is born.
