Free journeys on the Severn Valley Railway and free entry to the Black Country Living Museum are among them, though tickets have been going fast. The Open Week events mean special offers to anyone with a National Lottery ticket or scratchcard. The purpose of the week is to celebrate lottery players and thank them for their part in raising £30million each week for good causes. Since the National Lottery began in 1994, some £8.4billion has been awarded to 49,000 heritage projects. Here are some of the venues taking part in the Open Week in and around the Midlands.
