After a string of successful pop-ups, independent Japanese eatery Koba-Ko have announced that they will be opening their first restaurant later this year. The owner took to
Instagram to express his excitement about the announcement, writing: "I've finally managed to secure a permanent home Koba-ko! I can't give too much away but later this year there will be a new edition to Kings Heath's food scene." To help fund this new venture, the owner has launched a Crowdfunder featuring food rewards, merchandise and some "special one-off events" to encourage donations. These events involve other local independents including The Juke, Bonehead and Blow Water café. In just three days, the eatery managed to raise £6,467 - well over half of their target amount.
