British &
Irish Lions 28-10 JapanWarren Gatland left searching for a replacement on eve of tourThe
British & Irish Lions have been dealt a colossal blow with Alun Wyn Jones forced out of the tour – 24 hours before they are due to fly to
South Africa – after the captain sustained a dislocated shoulder in the comfortable warm-up win over
Japan.
Jones was taken off after seven minutes in obvious discomfort and with the look of a man who had accepted his fate. Warren Gatland subsequently revealed the 35-year-old would not board the plane for South Africa with the rest of the squad today/on Sunday and the head coach was left scrambling around for a replacement.
