Rep. Marjorie Taylor Greene (R-Ga.) is seen in a newly-resurfaced video telling supporters to "stand up and defend freedom," which she describes as being "earned with the price of blood," before the November election.
The
Republican lawmaker made the comments on Oct. 27, a week prior to the 2020 presidential election, as part of a
Facebook live interview with a pro-gun activist resurfaced by Mother Jones on Friday.
"If this generation doesn't stand up and defend freedom, it's gone," Greene says. "And once it's gone, freedom doesn't come back by itself. The only way you get your freedoms back is it's earned with the price of blood."
In other portions of the stream edited together by Mother Jones, Greene, who is reportedly speaking from a gun shop, is seen telling viewers that "freedom is on the ballot" during the
election and asserting that a vote for President Biden would be a vote to "completely end America as we know it." Supporters of former President
Donald Trump would later storm the Capitol in a deadly riot on Jan. 6 in an attempt to disrupt the certification of Biden's election win.
Greene, who has backed the false QAnon conspiracy theory, has already been facing heavy scrutiny and calls to resign from
Congress over a variety of previous comments, including a Facebook post agreeing with the conspiracy theory that the
Parkland school
shooting was a false flag, and according to
CNN, she "repeatedly indicated support for executing prominent
Democratic politicians in 2018 and 2019." The resurfaced video comes after Rep. Cori Bush (D-Mo.) on Friday said she would be moving her office after a mask-less Greene allegedly "berated me in a hallway."
