The BBC’s methods of identifying
comedy talent are not “match fit” and it needs to be better at finding acts via apps such as TikTok, the controller of
BBC comedy has said.
Shane Allen also warned that the broadcaster is at risk of being out-manoeuvred by the likes of
Netflix and
Amazon if it doesn’t do more to attract diverse talent.
