Rod Stewart has claimed Elton John did not take up the offer of an olive branch after he attempted to repair their friendship.
The pair fell out after Rod said that Elton’s farewell tour “stunk of selling tickets” during an appearance on a US talk show in March 2018.

Rod claimed that he never received a response from Elton, which he says he’d found upsetting as they’d previously been “real close”.

After Elton announced his farewell tour, Rod called it “dishonest” and “not rock and roll” during an appearance on Watch What Happens Live with Andy Cohen. “I don’t think this is a big deal, it stinks of selling tickets,” he said. Over 18 months later, Rod revealed his comments had impacted on his friendship with Elton.
