Brian May has said he feels like he has his “sparkle back” after suffering a heart attack earlier this year.
Brian May Says Hes Turned A Corner After Suffering A Heart Attack Earlier This Year
Back in May, the Queen guitarist revealed he’d been rushed to hospital following what he described as a “small heart attack”, eventually having three stents put in his heart.
During an appearance on Friday’s edition of The One Show, Brian gave presenters Alex Jones and Rylan Clark-Neal a health update, insisting he’s now on the mend. So glad to hear that @DrBrianMay is on the mend! 💛— BBC The One Show (@BBCTheOneShow) September 25, 2020“I’m OK now. That’s all you need to know,” he explained. “I got hit pretty hard and pretty low. A series of medical incidents, I guess you could say. It takes you very low.”
He continued: “So I am now on physical exercise and cardio rehab and I think I am turning a corner. I feel like I have got my sparkle back, just in the last few days, actually.
“But it has been a while. It was a tough one.”Brian revealed to his fans that he’d had a heart attack shortly after detailing a severe injury to his buttocks.
He said at the time: “In the middle of the whole saga of the painful backside, I had a small heart attack.
“I say small, it’s not something that did me any harm, it was about 40 minutes of pain in my chest and tightness and that feeling in the arms, and sweating, you kinda know, you’ve heard, ‘is this a heart attack?’.” View this post on InstagramHmm ... Sheer Heart Attack eh ? Well, I think I always worried a little bit about that album title. I wondered if it might upset some people who had actually had heart attacks. I’m actually quite relieved now that I’m in that club - and I don’t find it upsetting at all ! Take. care folks. And ... why did those discs in my spine get so squished? Well I think 50 years of running around with a guitar strap over my left shoulder holding a heavy guitar might have something to do with it ! But it probably WAS all worth it ! BriA post shared by Brian Harold May (@brianmayforreal) on May 24, 2020 at 7:42pm PDTBrian has been a member of Queen since the early 1970s, and continued to perform with the group and guest vocalist Adam Lambert, including earlier this year, where they recreated their iconic Live Aid set at a benefit concert for the Australian bushfires crisis.
In 2018, he was portrayed by Gwilym Lee in the biopic Bohemian Rhapsody, which earned a Best Picture nomination at the Academy Awards, despite a mixed reception from critics.
The band is about to unveil their first live album with Adam on lead vocals, compiled of several festival performances.READ MORE: Brian May Reveals He Was Recently Rushed To Hospital After Suffering A Heart Attack Brian May Apologises Over Bryan Singer Comments: 'I Had No Intention Of Defending Him' Yes, That Was Anita Dobson You Spotted At This Year's Oscars
