'Two French fries short of a Happy Meal': MTG ridiculed on The View for latest theory
Apr 08, 2024
Rep. Marjorie Taylor Greene (R-GA) proclaimed last week that an earthquake in the northeastern United States Friday, followed by today's solar eclipse, was a "sign from God." It sent "The View" co-hosts into peals of laughter and mockery. The panelists were quick with jokes recalling Donald Trump embracing the 2017 eclipse by staring directly at the sun without protective glasses while his staff yelled for him not to look directly because it could permanently damage eyes. "Maybe that's what's wrong with him," quipped Sunny Hostin. ALSO READ: A criminologist explains why keeping Trump from the White House is all that matters "Maybe that explains things," agreed Alyssa Farah Griffin, who served as Trump's communications director. "With the earthquake on Friday and the eclipse today, people are having all sorts of conspiracies about the end of the world. And then I read online that the epicenter was actually at Bedminster, New Jersey. Fun fact. So it originated with Trump." Another thing Hostin said is that there's a new cycle of cicadas coming this summer. Each generation of cicadas surfaces either every 13 years or every 17 years. There are those who believe that the Rapture is coming due to the confluence of events. Trump even used the eclipse to promote himself, showing his profile plunging the Earth into darkness in an ad. Whoopi Goldberg explained that all of these events happen all the time and it isn't an indication of anything ending the world. While the solar eclipse is making its way across the U.S. in 2024, it happens annually in various parts of the world. For example, there was a total solar eclipse in Antarctica on Dec. 4, 2021. That same day, the Semeru volcano erupted. All the while, the COVID-19 pandemic continued to plague the world. The Oxford High School shooter's parents were also arrested that day. Still, the confluence of events prompted Greene to tell the world that they must repent because all of the events happening at the same time meant God was displeased with the world. "I hope she listens," shaded Hostin after reading MTG's tweet. "She needs to listen, anyway.""She better listen," agreed Joy Behar. "That woman is two french fries short of a Happy Meal."The frequently used euphemism for stupidity or mental unfitness is similar to saying "a can short of a six-pack," "a quart low," "the elevator doesn't go all the way to the top," "the meatballs are sliding off the spaghetti," and "a few fruitloops short a bowl."See the comments from the co-hosts in the video below or at the link here.

I Finally Mastered Winged Eyeliner Using This Tape Hack
Apr 08, 2024
I have hooded, downturned eyes, and figuring out how to do winged eyeliner has been what feels like a life-long struggle. I've tried every type of eyeliner you can imagine: liquid, pencil, and even eyeshadow on an angled makeup brush. The medium never seemed to matter because the result was always a mess. That is until I came across one of Brynne Marie's TikTok videos showcasing her go-to eyeliner technique. The video has millions of views and hundreds of thousands of likes. However, I won't lie: I initially thought the eyeliner was going to look like sh*t. Color me surprised when it actually looked really freaking good. The key to Brynne's technique is to draw the line horizontally out of the corner of the eye, not up. I realized after watching her video over and over that I always did the opposite. I wanted to see if I could re-create it on my own eyes, even though they were a completely different shape. In Brynne's video, she uses Scotch tape to do her makeup and emphasizes that placement depends on your eye shape. "The key places to look out for even-ness are angles in this little corner," she says, pointing to the outer corner of her eye, "and where the tape ends on your face." @brynnemarieeee #stitch with @alixearle tape eyeliner 4ever <3 ♬ original sound - brynne She starts by using a black liquid eyeliner, which she says to think of as the base for the wing. To try it myself, I used the Urban Decay 24/7 Inks Easy Ergonomic Liquid Eyeliner Pen ($28), and I grabbed whatever tape I had in my junk drawer, which happened to be some clear knock-off Scotch tape. I followed her steps in the video, placing the tape underneath my water line at the outer corner of my eye. Then, I took my liquid eyeliner and began thinly lining my lash line straight out toward my ear, half as long as I wanted the actual wing to be. Next, I went in with an angled brush and a dark brown eyeshadow from the Kosas Undressed Eyeshadow Palette ($40). I started the line in the center of my eye and went directly over the black using the brown eyeshadow. Then, following the next steps in the video, I went in with a slightly lighter brown directly on top of the other two lines. Pro tip: the lines are meant to be drawn on top of one another, and remember, you want to make sure you are drawing them out horizontally, not up. Finally, I took a big fluffy brush and blended everything before slowly removing the tape. I won't lie - removing the tape kinda hurts, but the result is totally worth it. It was genuinely the first time I had ever been able to do any kind of winged eyeliner that looked even remotely good. Since my first time testing this hack, I've used it a ton. I don't do my look as dramatic as the initial tutorial video, but I've found my rhythm with a technique that works great for my eye shape. One thing to note is you want to do this hack prior to doing your base makeup because the tape will mess up any foundation or concealer you have on your face. Besides that, it's genuinely the perfect hack. If you've been struggling with winged eyeliner, give Brynne's video a watch. I promise you won't be disappointed. Just remember: draw horizontally, not up, and prepare to be amazed. Renee Rodriguez is a staff writer and social producer for POPSUGAR. 'He can still talk about the case': Fox News host corrects Trump gag order lies
Apr 07, 2024
Fox News host Howard Kurtz reminded Trump campaign press secretary Karoline Leavitt that her boss could still talk about his hush-money case even though a judge put a limited gag order in place. While speaking to Leavitt on Sunday, Kurtz noted that former President Donald Trump had said he was willing to go to jail after Judge Juan Merchan prevented him from talking about court staff or the judge's family. "If this partisan hack wants me to put, wants to put me in the clink for speaking the open, obvious truth, I will gladly become a modern-day Nelson Mandela," Trump wrote about the gag order, Kurtz reported. "So why is he comparing himself to Mandela?" the Fox News host asked. "And is he now worried about going to jail in this case?" "No, not at all," Leavitt insisted. "Truth will ultimately prevail in this case and in all of the cases. The Democrats want President Trump confined to a courtroom." "Unfortunately, he'll have to be on trial in a dark, dirty New York City courtroom because Alvin Bragg is a far-left district attorney who has spent more time persecuting President Trump than prosecuting real violent criminals on the streets of New York," she continued. "President Trump is exposing the truth in all of these Biden-led witch hunts." ALSO READ: Inside the neo-Nazi hate network grooming children for a race war Leavitt attributed the gag orders to Democrats who want to "silence" Trump. "And that's exactly why you see these gag orders coming down," she opined. "Not only are they prosecuting him, but they want to silence him." "It's a complete violation of his First Amendment rights." Kurtz ended the interview with a correction. "He can still talk about the case," the Fox News host said. "But I'm glad to have your response on that." Watch the video below from Fox News or at the link

Trump's trial tactics have hit a wall 'named Judge Juan Merchan': legal expert
Apr 06, 2024
Donald Trump has had one consistent tactic for handling the serious criminal and civil litigation he faces, and that technique has met its match, according to a former trial attorney.MSNBC host and legal analyst Katie Phang appeared on the network on Saturday, and was asked about Trump's legal strategy. The former president has pushed for the delay or dismissal of his upcoming trial in the criminal hush money case, but has so far been mostly unsuccessful in those efforts.Phang suggested the reason why that's the case.ALSO READ: A criminologist explains why keeping Trump from the White House is all that mattersAccording to the analyst, it's because Trump has met his match, and it's the judge in that case."Delay can only get you so far in the judicial system," Phang said, "before it hits a wall."She continued:"That wall has a name, that wall is named Judge Juan Merchan. So, Judge Merchan has seen many attempts by Donald Trump to try to delay or even throw the case in its entirety, the latest being this motion to recuse Judge Merchan. The problem for Donald Trump is, there are standards, legal standards that have to be met to recuse a judge. In this particular instance, I along with several other analysts believe he will not reach that legal standard."Phang added that it is "interesting" that Trump is telling Juan Merchan that he is "doing something wrong.""But, guess who gets to decide it? Juan Merchan," she added."In this instance, the allegations that Judge Merchan's daughter has a job or equity in a company that has Democrat clients, the hypocrisy is pretty rank. We see a lot of Republicans that make money off of those types of relationships, as well. But, again, if there is impropriety or the appearance of impropriety, that is a standard but that doesn't exist here, there is no legal standard being met." Watch the video below or click the link.

'Great idea. Let's go!' Trump critics approve his offer to be jailed like Nelson Mandela
Apr 06, 2024
At the tail end of a three-part Truth Social rant on Saturday, Donald Trump raged at being placed under a gag order by Judge Juan Merchan tied to the upcoming trial related to the former president paying hush money to an adult film star, with the Trump saying he would gladly go to jail rather than have his right to speak abridged. To make his point, Trump compared him to human rights icon Nelson Mandela who spent 27 years in jail for leading the African National Conference (ANC) for opposing the apartheid policies in South Africa. In a bit of a stretch, the former president apparently sees a bit of himself in the career arc of Mandela who won the Nobel Peace Prize in 1993 for his work.ALSO READ: No, Donald Trump, fraud is not protected by the First AmendmentAs part of his furious rant on Truth Social, he wrote: "Now, we have Merchan, who is not allowing me to talk, thereby violating the Law and the Constitution, all at once. It is so bad what he is trying to get away with - How was he even chosen for this case??? I heard he fought like hell to get it, and all of the rest of them also! If this Partisan Hack wants to put me in the 'clink' for speaking the open and obvious TRUTH, I will gladly become a Modern Day Nelson Mandela - It will be my GREAT HONOR."Critics of Trump were quick to jump on his offer and honor his wishes, with X commenter writing, "Give him what he wants."That was the general response by a majority of X users as you can see below after Politico's Kyle Cheney reported, "Trump says on Truth Social that it would me 'my great honor' to go to jail for violating Judge Merchan’s gag order and that it will make him a 'modern day Nelson Mandela.'"Harris Peskin replied, "It would be my great honor to host a Trump is in jail party," with Exile Bob adding, "I would like to attend this party.""Great idea. Let’s go!!" wrote an approving Dorene Brown to which X user Chidi added, "May his wish be granted."Wobbly Genius observed, "Ah, Yes… Nelson Mandela, who was so famously prosecuted for falsifying business records to pay off a porn star.""Cool. I will wait outside when he’s released 27 years later," wrote another. In a longer post that detailed Mandela's history, Chris Swart concluded, "In the grand scheme of things, Trump eyeing jail time like it’s a badge of honour is akin to a toddler throwing a tantrum in a supermarket and then expecting to be carried out on the shoulders of cheering onlookers. The real 'honor' here might be in recognizing the vast chasm between facing consequences for one’s actions and the profound sacrifices made by true leaders like Mandela. But hey, in the world of Trumpian logic, why let reality spoil a perfectly good delusion?""Can he be held at Rikers? And no internet," asked Chris.Fan of Walt was skeptical but conceded, "One way to find out," with an agreeable Chica adding, "I say, let’s find out!""Sometimes you gotta call the bluff," suggested Bob Anderson.A resigned Nancy Hughes was agreeable, writing, "Ok whatever it takes."X user Debbie Margerum said it all with a meme: @kyledcheney — (@)
