'Field of Flags' set up in Washington DC to replace inauguration audience
A "Field of Flags" display has been set up on the National Mall in Washington DC.
The display was organised by the Presidential Inaugural Committee to mark the upcoming swearing-in of President-elect Joe Biden.
Echoing the "America United" theme of inauguration week, the display features 191,500 US flags and 56 pillars of light.

The display represented all Americans unable to travel to Washington DC to attend the inauguration due to the coronavirus pandemic.

Guatemalan troops break up migrant group on their way to Mexico
Guatemalan police and soldiers broke up a group of hundreds of migrants Monday who had spent two nights stuck at a roadblock on a rural highway.
A steep mountain and tall wall flanking the rural highway have allowed Guatemalan authorities to bottle up the group that had numbered about 2,000 when it pushed into Guatemala Friday night.
In total, some 8,000 to 9,000 Honduran migrants were believed to have entered Guatemala in the year's first caravan after departing from San Pedro Sula, Honduras early Friday.
They tend to create large groups in order to protect themselves in their way north, aiming to reach the United States.

Four years of Donald Trump: The best and worst moments from his presidency
Since his victory in 2016 and #inauguration in 2017, Donald Trump has been at the helm of one of the most unconventional and eventful presidencies in recent memory.
From the inauguration crowd size controversy, to meeting Kim Jong-un and swearing in three Supreme Court justices, Mr Trump ploughed ahead with his unique style of leadership which sometimes stumped even the most seasoned of Washington correspondents.
To round off his term in office, Mr Trump faced both an impeachment, a devastating pandemic in the months leading up to the 2020 election, and most recently, a controversial phone call with Georgia's Secretary of State in an attempt to overturn Joe Biden's victory in the state.
This led to chaos in America, after a gang of violent Trump supporters raided the US Capitol building on Jan 6 in an attempt to block the certification of the presidential election results.
However, in the hours following the violence, the US Congress declared Joe #Biden would become the next President of the United States of America on Jan 7, after they certified the 270 Electoral College votes which he needed to win. He defeated Donald #Trump by 306-232.

Melania Trump releases farewell message: 'Violence is never the answer'
Melania Trump released a farewell message on Monday as she prepares to leave the White House, saying that "violence is never the answer," weeks after the president’s supporters stormed the US Capitol.
In a formal, six-minute speech recorded on video, the First Lady made only a fleeting reference to her husband as she paid tribute to military families, pandemic health workers and those helping victims of opioid abuse.
The Trumps’ departure has been fractious, with the president refusing for months to accept the election result due to false allegations of fraud, and declining to congratulate his successor Joe Biden.

In full: MPs debate and vote to extend Universal Credit £20 uplift
The Prime Minister and Rishi Sunak, the Chancellor, are under to pressure to extend the £20-a-week boost to the benefit, introduced to help families through the Covid crisis, which is due to wind-up at the end of March.
Vaccines minister Nadhim Zahawi rubbished the opposition day debate as "a political stunt", saying: "This debate today has no real impact on the outcome on those families, other than a political little stunt for Labour."
Conservative MPs are expected to abstain. However, with widespread unhappiness about the handling of previous issues such as free school meals, as well as lockdown sceptics looking to take advantage of the opportunity to inflict a bloody nose, some could side with Labour if they do not receive assurances that it will be extended in the March Budget or before.
