Covid-19: Number of active cases in M'sia on the decline, 14 fatalities on Tuesday
The number of active Covid-19 cases in the country has decreased by more than 40% since two weeks ago, says the Health Ministry.
Malaysia recorded 2,468 new infections and discharged 4,055 patients on Tuesday (Feb 23), which means that there are 30,475 active cases at present.
Health director-general Tan Sri Dr Noor Hisham Abdullah said in a statement on Tuesday (Feb 23) that the total number of confirmed Covid-19 cases is now at 288,229 and fourteen more people died due to the coronavirus as at noon on Tuesday.

Cook killed after car crashes into eatery in Kampar
A 59-year-old cook at an eatery died after a car crashed into the shop in Kampar.
Kampar OCPD Supt Hasron Nazri Hisham said Wong Kwai Yung died on the spot due to head injuries while another 50-year-old cook sustained light injuries during the 9.40am incident on Tuesday (Feb 23).
Supt Hasron added that the driver of the car, a 54-year-old disabled man from Klang, Selangor and his 42-year-old passenger were not injured during the incident, and fortunately, some customers who were seated inside the shop were not harmed as well.
