Paris course is set to host races on Monday but the French governing body aware of ‘alarmist reports’ about resumption
A last-minute threat to the return of racing in
France appeared to emerge on Friday evening when France Galop, the sport’s ruling body, issued a press release acknowledging that “alarmist reports have been circulating” about plans to resume the French season with three cards on Monday, including a 10-race meeting at Longchamp in
Paris with four Group races.
Though details are scarce, the last-minute concerns about the resumption are believed to focus on Paris tracks, which are in an area of the country designated as a “red zone” by the government, where lockdown restrictions are due to be relaxed more slowly.
