Manchester has been cordoned off by police as emergency services respond to a reported stabbing.
Emergency services rushed to Piccadilly Gardens in Manchester, near Morrisons supermarket, after two people were stabbed. Officers were called to reports of an assault at 12.10pm and have said it was thought to be a "targeted attack" with no threat to the wider community. One man has been taken to hospital and another is being treated at the scene for minor injuries.
The scene remains cordoned off as a forensic officer carries out investigations.
The two victims of the attack are believed to have been father and son, Manchester Evening News reports.
Police were seen detaining a man near the scene several hours after the incident.
It is not yet known whether he was involved in the attack.
North West Ambulance service said they were called at 12.08pm and confirmed they are "treating two patients".
One company, situated near Piccadilly Gardens, issued a warning to workers to remain within the building.
The warning said: "An individual has been the victim of stabbing. Please stay within the building until this incident is under control."
Greater Manchester Police said in a statement: "Police are currently responding to an incident near Piccadilly.
"At around 12.10pm today (Monday 10 February 2020), police were called to reports of an assault on Piccadilly, Manchester City Centre.
"Emergency services are currently in attendance.
