Lensfield Road, in the city centre, will be shut from 8pm to 6am between Monday, April 15 and Saturday, April 20. The works are being carried out by the county council and will involve major improvements on the carriageway. Roadworks will be in place on nearby Trumpington Road during this period. Emergency access will be maintained at all times throughout the week. A diversion route is also due to come into effect, with motorists advised to plan their journeys accordingly. The four-mile diversion route is in place because Trumpington Road is an A road and other roads need to be accessible for HGVs." The diversion route will take motorists down Hills Road, Long Road and Trumpington Road. It is estimated that this will add around four miles and 11 minutes onto journey times.
