has shared his "master plan" which included plans to create a car that makes you money instead of setting you back. The 52-year-old CEO of and
Tesla has marked eight years since he first published ' '. Musk's first plan was written 18 years ago and detailed his goals for the Tesla brand - to create a series of cars and "provide solar power". The third plan was released a year ago. Now the businessman is reflecting on the second which included the pledge to "enable your car to make money for you when you aren't using it". Taking to X, Musk shared a link and simply stated: "I wrote this 8 years ago." The plan includes expanding Tesla "to cover the major forms of terrestrial transport" including heavy-duty trucks (which Tesla has seemingly achieved with its Cybertruck) and high passenger-density urban transport. There were also details of plans for "autonomy", as the document states: "As the technology matures, all Tesla vehicles will have the hardware necessary to be fully self-driving with fail-operational capability, meaning that any given system in the car could break and your car will still drive itself safely." It added: "It is important to emphasize that refinement and validation of the software will take much longer than putting in place the cameras, radar, sonar and computing hardware." Reacting to the trip down memory lane, one person posted on X/Twitter: "And now we’re in 2024 talking about Tesla robo taxis. Amazing progress." Others made comments like "what an exciting time to be alive" and "if you are not excited about the future or about the progress of technology, you should be".
