Netflix have dropped their hotly anticipated new show Scoop - which unleashes several bombshell revelations about the royal family. Many will remember the infamous
BBC Newsnight interview with Emily Maitlis and an unusually candid Prince Andrew , who is being portrayed by Rufus Sewell in the
Netflix show. Back in November 2019, the younger brother of King Charles let the cameras in to Buckingham Palace for a tell-all interview, where he spoke at length with Maitlis (played by Gillian Anderson in the show). For 50 gruelling minutes Andrew was grilled on his friendship with convicted sex offender and paedophile Jeffrey Epstein , who had died in August of the same year. He was also called on accusations he had sex with one of Epstein's victims,
Virginia Guiffre, when she was 17. He vehemently denies these allegations, saying he never met her and was in a branch of Pizza Express in Woking on the night of the alleged incident. In legal documents filed in the US, Virginia claims she was paid to have sex with Andrew. "Yes, I did receive $15,000. I don't know what equivalent that is to pounds. I received it in
American dollars," she said in a legal deposition in 2015. The Duke has since paid an unknown sum to Virginia in an out-of-court settlement, on no admission of liability. As the
Royal Family braces for another public hit following the release of the Netflix drama, we take a look at the biggest bombshells moments from Scoop after it dropped this morning. Naked scene In a turn of events no one would expect to see, we end up seeing a 'naked' Prince Andrew during one scene. The interview was recorded at Buckingham Palace a couple of days before it aired. Many were thought to have advised Andrew against doing the now infamous chat with Emily but he was insistent it would be a good idea. It is believed Andrew was so relaxed about his Newsnight interview that he was watching it in the bath, despite many suggesting it was not going to align with viewers like he might have expected. In Scoop, we see a naked Prince Andrew get out the bath to check his phone to see how his interview has gone down - and it's not good news for him. Creepy collection Prince Andrew's not-so secret hobby of collecting teddy bears was a key part of the new Scoop movie. In one scene, he was shown fuming at one of the team at Buckingham Palace for not placing his prized bears in the right way. He is seen belittling the assistant, fuming that his kangaroo teddy was not in the correct place, leaving her lost for words as he called her out on her error. A former Buckingham Palace maid who worked for Andrew and his family had previously told how she was asked to line up all 72 of his teddy bears in size order. "As soon as I got the
Job, I was told about the teddies and it was drilled into me how he wanted them. I even had a day’s training. Everything had to be just right. It was so peculiar," Charlotte Briggs had explained in 2022, "It was so odd. After all, he was a grown man who had served in the Falklands. But he absolutely loved the teddies and was very clear about how he wanted them arranged." Chilling Jimmy Saville comment Before the interview itself, Emily Maitlis and some of the BBC Newsnight team went to meet Prince Andrew and his team to discuss the possibility of an interview. Whilst they promised they would chat to him about Pitch @ Palace, an initiative he was running, but they also insisted they wouldn't shy away from the topic of Jeffrey Epstein and Andrew's connection with him. No interview was agreed at the time but Andrew is seen making a throwaway comment in the Netflix movie, insisting that he didn't understand what the furore was about the connection with him and Epstein, before quipping he actually "knew Jimmy Savile much better". Back in 2012, a documentary examined the claims of
Sexual Abuse made against Savile after his death, with the
police later involved in pursuing the testimony of 300 potential victims and he was also found to have sexually assaulted NHS staff and patients over several decades. Queen's surprising reaction Prince Andrew's top aide Amanda Thirsk - played by Keeley Hawes in the drama - was the one who connected with Sam McAlister (Billie Piper) about a potential interview, which ended up being broadcast to the nation in November 2019. However, Andrew directly asked his mother, the late
Queen about if they were ok to go ahead with the interview. In the movie, Amanda quizzes Andrew on what his mother thought of him doing the interview and he replied that she absolutely trusted his judgement. How Andrew misled the Queen Obviously, the interview didn't get received as well as Prince Andrew had hoped - despite him being adamant this was the best thing for him and the whole of the Royal Family . Following the interview, which took place in one of Buckingham Palace's drawing rooms, there was a panic from the Newsnight team as they had to get the approval to run the interview. They had planned to do a teaser of the interview first and then broadcast it the following day, but at the final hour, editor Esme Wren sparked fears it could be taken off air. However, of course, as we know, the interview went live just two days later. Princess Beatrice alongside Prince Andrew and Amanda Thirsk in the movie ( Image: Netflix/Peter Mountain. All Rights Reserved) Beatrice's involvement According to Scoop, Prince Andrew's daughter Beatrice was there when Amanda Thirsk and Andrew discussed the possibility of the interview alongside the Newsnight team. She was shown in the movie taking notes whilst Andrew spoke and they discussed the topics they would be talking about during the appearance on the programme. The team couldn't be seen entering the palace via taxi as they discussed what was about to happen. Beatrice was at the meeting, but she mainly remained quiet as she listened to her father's comments to the team. *If you've been the victim of
