Royal Family members at the traditional Easter Sunday church service at
Windsor Castle today. It was the monarch's biggest public appearance since revealing that he had been diagnosed with
cancer in February but compared to last year's service, there were significantly less members of the Firm in attendance. Most notably, the Princess of Wales was not present after she released an emotional video message on March 22 to publicly announce that she had also received a cancer diagnosis. Fans were left blown away as the Duke and Duchess of Edinburgh were spotted leaving the service with their rarely seen teenage son, James (Image: Hollie Adams/PA Wire) Edward and Sophie's 16-year-old son, James, the Earl of Wessex, was the youngest royal at the service and blew fans away as he looked almost unrecognisable, thanks to a huge growth spurt, the Mirror reports. The teen who is a nephew of the King and the late Queen's youngest grandchild looked smart in a suit as he towered over his mum Sophie, in her purple coat, while he appeared to be close in height to his dad, Edward. Royal fans were baffled by how tall the rarely-seen royal had become with one saying taking to X, formerly
Twitter to write: "Oh my God, James is so grown up." Another penned: "Can we talk about the height of James, Earl of Wessex, huh?!?" A third remarked: "He is so tall now." James, who is the younger brother of Lady Louise Windsor, is 15th in line to the throne and was given the title, Earl of Wessex, last year when his parents were made Duke and Duchess of Edinburgh. He has mostly grown up away from the public eye with his family but has made quite a few high-profile appearances in recent years such as the Commonwealth Games, the Queen's Platinum Jubilee celebrations and the King's Coronation. 16-year-old James is the King's youngest nephew (Image: Mark Cuthbert/UK Press via Getty Images) The teen's full name is James Alexander Philip Theo, with his middle name clearly being a nod to his late grandfather, the former Duke of Edinburgh. He was born in December 2007 at Frimley Park Hospital in Surrey - close to his parent's home of Bagshot Park. At yesterday's Easter service, the King beamed and waved to a small crowd as he and Camilla arrived for the mass. The monarch was dressed in a dark coat and blue tie while Camilla was in a great coat dress by Anna Valentine as they waved at members of the public outside St George’s Chapel. One person shouted "Happy Easter", to which Charles gestured with his arm and responded: "And to you." Join the Daily Record's

As is customary, the King sat inside the chapel in the Sovereign's Seat which is situated at the front of the altar, along with the rest of the Firm who were in their usual places in the stalls. The layout of St George’s Chapel is such that the main congregation sits in a separate section of the church. After the service, which finished around 11:45am, the King was applauded by members of the public and received cries of "Happy Easter" as he and Camilla left St George's Chapel. The
Queen was presented with a posy of white and yellow flowers by a sweet young boy and the King went over to greet a small crowd who had been allowed to gather and was seen accepting get well cards as well as shaking hands. Keep going strong." Another member of the public told Charles on Sunday: "We’re all rooting for you, we’ve all got your back." The King's cancer treatment was announced at the start of February, but he has been continuing to carry out low-key official duties during this time behind palace walls. It is also likely this is why there is a much smaller gathering of royals at this year's service as he has paused public-facing duties during his treatment.
