Originally starting out as a three-piece, Odhran Donnelly (lead vocals) Jonny Mitchell (bass) and Padraic Loughran (lead guitar) formed in 2018 after meeting at school and bonding over a shared love of music. After the release of their first single, they added drummer Delaney O’Neill to the line-up. They've now played gigs all over
Ireland and have just released their fifth single, No Valve. Their latest track is a mature and slick effort, featuring a catchy chorus and bouncy bass lines. It marks a band who are quickly maturing with each release - while making a name for themselves on the indie

Irish influences and plans for the future - and how it all began. He recalls: "We all loved the same tunes, and started picking up instruments - just not as a band yet. Then, a life changing drunken conversation at an Airbnb in the Croatian mountains was all it took for us to finally go for it and form a band in August of 2018! We haven’t looked back since." Fast forward six years from their decision to form a band, new single No Valve is described by Jonny as "an energetic indie rock song with a driving bass line, killer drums, intricate guitar playing and amazing vocals". He says it's all topped off with "poetic and emotional lyrics". He added: "I think people who have followed us from the beginning will probably be a little surprised when they hear this one. It's a bit of a different sound for us considering the themes of our early songs. "We feel 'No Valve' is the truest form of 'The Capris' and it sets the tone for our future releases too." Having met in Tyrone, members of the band will be the first to say their place of birth is a major influence in their song writing. Irish bands also have a major influence on them, they say. Jonny said: “The people we grew up around, the spirit of the town, all of those things definitely inspire us creatively. Our last single ‘Melancholy Blues’ signalled a new era of our own music, we’re telling stories about our own lives, and that all comes back to where we’re from. "We love bands like Inhaler, The Academic and Two Door Cinema Club - we’re indie kids at heart." The Capris have also set the bar high when it comes to a venue they dream of playing in one day. First stop Ireland - and next stop the world. Jonny said: “Croke Park and Wembley! We dream big, and why not? Plenty of bands hailing from Ireland have conquered the biggest stages in the world, so why not us?
