Kate Middleton in her emotional
cancer diagnosis video shows her 'genuine' feelings, according to a body language expert. On Friday, March 22, the Princess of Wales revealed she had been undergoing preventative chemotherapy for cancer after undergoing 'major surgery' back in January this year. Kate admitted the news had come as a 'shock' to her and her family , especially since it was originally thought by doctors that her condition was non-cancerous. Kensington Palace - however, the post-op results showed otherwise. Kate put on a brave face for the public, body language expert Judi James told the Mirror , as she sat outdoors on a bench with flowers blooming in the background. The expert commented: "It's almost impossible to view this brave solo performance by Kate without crying yourself. Sitting pale, rather drawn but still elegant and quite beautiful, she sits in a casual jumper to relay her anything-but-casual message. "What husband would ever want to see his wife recording a message like this sitting alone especially one who then has to ask for privacy to be allowed to heal? But the fact that Kate has suggests strength and willpower from the future

Women At the start of the video, Kate thanked the public for their well-wishes during her time spent recovering at home. She revealed that after having surgery, post-op tests found that cancer had indeed been present. She also explained that she's now having preventative chemotherapy in order to recover. "My medical team therefore advised that I should undergo a course of preventative chemotherapy and I am now in the early stages of that treatment," Kate explained. She then began to speak about how tough it had been on her family, especially having three young children. "One of Kate's faintest smiles comes as she says that 'having William by my side is a great source of comfort'," Judi continued. "The tragedy in terms of her body language comes from her contrasting signals. "With her head held high, she shows so many signs of firmness, determination and resilience," Judi continued. "Her left eyebrow is raised in what is normally an expression of humour while her lips pucker and purse and her eyes narrow to show the firmness when she speaks of her recovery and her need for 'time, space and privacy’." Kate has asked for privacy for her and her family during this difficult time (Image: Getty) Judi believes her voice threatens to break once she refers to William and her 'young family'. And that a subtle, soothing gesture with her hand gave away her true feelings about the diagnosis. "Kate's hand clasp suggests willpower tinged with some anxiety," Judi explained. "Her left hand raises to show a desire to keep control and to reassure when she says she is in the ‘early stages of chemo’. Her only concession to any inner anxiety comes from a very slight and gentle thumb rub, which is a self-comfort gesture. Kate assured fans she was getting stronger every day, but requested privacy for her and her family during this difficult time. She ended her statement with a poignant message of solidarity, saying: "At this time, I am also thinking of all those whose lives have been affected by cancer. For everyone facing this disease, in whatever form, please do not lose faith or hope. You are not alone." Join the Daily Record's
