boxing superstar Mike Tyson is temporarily halting his Hotboxin' podcast to focus on a forthcoming boxing match with internet personality Jake Paul. 'Iron Mike', as he's famously known, will step into the ring again on July 20 to face off against Paul at the AT&T Stadium in
Texas. While some details about the fight are yet to be clarified, it's confirmed that neither man will wear headgear and there's a push for it to be considered a pro match. Tyson announced recently that he was stopping podcast production, which he started two years ago together with co-host Sebastian Joseph-Day. Tyson said: "Ladies and gentlemen, these are my final recordings of Hotboxin'. I really enjoyed being part of this journey and all of the people that I met, the remarkable people that I met, in interviews. This is my next chapter in life, please enjoy the following social on my website for my next venture. I love you all." Japan friendly cancelled for bizarre reason The podcast saw Tyson chatting with a number of big names, including UFC pundit Joe Rogan and
WWE star The Undertaker during its two-year run. Now, Tyson will shift his attention to preparing for his bout with Paul, who also featured on the undercard in Tyson's previous face-off versus fellow boxing icon Roy Jones Jr. back in November 2020. Tyson's coach, Rafael Cordeiro, has hit back at claims that Tyson's training videos are fake. Speaking on The MMA Hour, he said Tyson's power is so strong it hurt his shoulder. "After first seeing him, it messed with my shoulder," Cordeiro explained. "I couldn't hold mitts for at least six, seven months with my boys in the gym. My right shoulder was a big, big mess, and I stopped for a while to take care of my shoulder and do physical therapy. Sometimes, I say 1-2-3, and he's already inside. If I don't move back, oh lord. It's impossible. I have to move back." Cordeiro also reassured fans about Tyson's readiness for the fight despite his age: "I believe people don't have to be concerned. We're talking about a guy who was a two-time champ. The guy didn't have 20 fights in two years. He knows how to fight. He fought against the best guys in the world. When he steps inside the ring, he knows what to do. It's not something new for Mike, and this fight is no different." Story Saved You can find this story in My Bookmarks.
