The photographer behind Tom Hardy ’s new film Bikeriders has revealed the bizarre restrictions while on set, including not looking at the star. The Venom star has been praised for his role as Johnny, the leader of motorcycle gang the Vandals , in the upcoming adaptation of a 1968 book on bikers. However, it seems author Danny Lyon was left wanting by the 46-year-old leading man as he claims he was forced to hide behind a tree to observe filming. In his new memoir, This Is My Life I’m Talking About, the 82-year-old filmmaker revealed he had been excited to meet Tom but was brutally rebuffed. ‘They tried to keep me away but I finally get there. It’s f***ing freezing. I just want to meet Tom Hardy,’ he wrote. Danny continued: ‘He gets on set and they say, ‘You can’t look at him’. I said, ‘What do you mean? Why can’t I look at him?’ They say, ‘Oh, he doesn’t like it’. This revelation from Danny comes shortly after similar comments from X-Men icon Patrick Stewart who believed he would ‘never see’ Tom work again. Patrick, 83, struggled to warm to the Mad Max star when filming Star Trek: Nemesis together, in which Tom played villain and Picard’s clone, Shinzon. In Making It So: A Memoir, the legendary

London. His name was Tom Hardy.’ Patrick claimed: ‘Tom wouldn’t engage with any of us on a social level. Never said, “Good morning,” never said, “Goodnight,” and spent the hours he wasn’t needed on set in his
trailer with his girlfriend.’ Despite their distance, the two-time Olivier winner was careful to say his co-star was not disrespectful or unkind – simply aloof. He added: ‘On the evening Tom wrapped his role, he characteristically left without ceremony or niceties, simply walking out of the door. As it closed, I said quietly to [costars Brent Spiner and Jonathan Frakes],”And there goes someone I think we shall never hear of again.”‘ Patrick then quipped he was glad Tom had proven him wrong, going on to have a lucrative film and television career.

The pair’s relationship allegedly collapsed into shouting matches , according to Kyle Buchanan’s book Blood, Sweat & Chrome: The Wild And True Story Of Mad Max: Fury Road. Charlize, 48, reportedly had someone by her side at all times on set after a heated argument erupted as she wanted to begin at 8am sharp, due to family commitments. Camera operator Mark Goellnicht claimed the This Mean War star would regularly arrive on set late, leaving Charlize waiting hours to begin filming. She got her makeup and costume sorted and headed into the film’s War Rig, however, despite a ‘special request’ from producers to arrive on time – Tom was nowhere to be seen. ‘Gets to nine o’clock, still no Tom,’ Goellnicht revealed. ‘”Charlize, do you want to get out of the War Rig and walk around, or do you want to . . .” ‘”No, I’m going to stay here.” She was really going to make a point. She didn’t go to the bathroom, didn’t do anything. She just sat in the War Rig.’ She remained in the vehicle for four hours until the Dark Knight Rises actor arrived for filming at around 11am, prompting her to spring out of the rig and begin swearing. ‘Fine the f**king c*** a hundred thousand dollars for every minute that he’s held up this crew,’ she reportedly shouted and added: ‘How disrespectful you are!’ Mark continued: ‘She was right. Full rant. She screams it out. It’s so loud, it’s so windy — he might’ve heard some of it, but he charged up to her up and went, “What did you say to me?”‘ According to the camera operator, Tom seemed ‘quite aggressive,’ and his co-star ‘really felt threatened.’ After this, he claims Charlize had a producer with her at all times.
